I put together a step-by-step guide recording my process while I made this picture of Morrigan from Darkstalkers.

After working on other people's OCs for so long. It's really refreshing to make my own OCs and build up lore, settings, and dynamics/relationships for the characters.

I made Omega Gal and Hero as gender bends of the main pair in Mega Man X, one of my favorite games.

But then I made a gender bend of Vile. Then I made a variant of Sigma and every boss in the fist game. And Sigma's dog. And Vile's ride armor. and Dr. Light and Dr. Wiley even though they are not supposed to be present in the setting of Mega Man X.

Things got out of hand.

I might make a full fledged comic book out of "Omega Gal and Hero" one day.

So a few months back I made the mistake of offering free art on Twitter to build a following.

It worked and I more than doubled my following from 25 into >100.

But I ended up creating 86 drawings in just two weeks. It was... intense.

Had to make it a rule to only spend 2 hours on each drawing and it wasn't commission based. I drew submitted OCs however I wanted.

I was surprised how well this served as an art bootcamp. I was able to quickly iron out my art style that I only recently developed and learn some new tricks with filters and post processing on my journey.

Still can't decide if I would or would not recommend it.
